Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA ON)

Role Overview:
As a full time Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), you will have the opportunity to support and assist people diagnosed with an intellectual and developmental disability with complex behavioural needs, based on the needs and goals of the person and family.
The primary responsibility of the Behaviour Analyst will be to conduct assessments, develop comprehensive behaviour intervention plans, skill acquisition plans, and provide ongoing support to people in service and their family.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify behavioural strengths and challenges
- Develop individualized behaviour intervention plans based on assessment findings
- Implement evidence-based interventions and strategies to support skill development utilizing the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis
- Document and share with the team of Direct Support Professionals and care providers on developmental/behavioural progress.
- Participate in team meetings and assist in the development of creative solutions to individual and programming challenges.
- Mentor and coach the team of Direct Support Professionals providing support to people in service
- Must have completed the BCBA supervisory course and have obtained three CEUs every two years to maintain eligibility to provide supervisory guidance to RBTs, BCaBA’s and students
- Initial and ongoing staff training on ABA implementation and behaviour management.
- Oversee the rigorous collection and analysis of data
- Contribute positively to the ongoing growth and development of the organization
- Maintain effective and positive relationships with external agencies, people supported, and family members.
- Conduct meetings with staff as needed to ensure consistency of implementation
- Provide ongoing support, training, and guidance to people supported, staff, families, and applicable interest holders.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including clinicians, therapists, educators, and healthcare providers, to ensure integrated care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of the progress and treatment plans of the people we support
- Use protective equipment and wear protective devices or clothing that the employer deems as required, including the use of fit-tested N95 respirator and/or similar equipment.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and standards of practice set forth by the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board (BACB)/ College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO)
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Psychology or Developmental Disabilities with study/experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
- Current certification as a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA)
- Must obtain certification with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario ( (CPBAO) by July 1, 2024
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with people diagnosed with an intellectual and developmental disability to include complex needs
- Experience with and sound knowledge of MCCSS regulatory requirements –Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with Developmental Disabilities Act, 2008 (SIPDDA) and Child, Youth, and Family Services Act, 2017 (CYFSA) – along with Quality Assurance Management (QAM) requirements related to supportive living services
- Strong clinical skills, including assessment, intervention planning, and behaviour management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary team
- Professional liability insurance
- A valid Class “G” Driver’s License, a current copy of a Driver’s Abstract for review and verification that is satisfactory to BCGHI and use of vehicle
- SMG- Crisis Intervention Training
- Certification in First Aid/CPR
- The successful candidate will be required to complete a Criminal Records Check- Vulnerable Sector Search
